About Joe Matarese

Joe grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and was the only one in his family to move off the block.

After doing standup for three years in Philadelphia, he moved to New York City to pursue comedy more seriously. That move really paid off.

He has since appeared on many TV shows including MTV's Spring Break, The Jim Bruer Show, MTV's Carson Daly Show, NBC's Late Friday, NY Metro's New Joke City with Robert Klein, numerous times on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, CNBC's McEnroe, TBS's Live At The Laugh Factory, and the reality show The Better Half on Bravo. You also may have seen him pop up on VH1's Celebrity Breakups 2005, or Celebrity Fashion Mistakes.

He also tours regularly with Artie Lange from the Howard Stern Show, which lead to him performing at Carnegie Hall.

Something else he's proud of is being invited to perform at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival 3 times. His 1st time at the festival lead to a development deal... Read More »

Something else he's proud of is being invited to perform at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival 3 times. His 1st time at the festival lead to a development deal with VH1. Joe's also had a development deal a few years after that with NBC to star in his own sitcom. Neither of these ever made it to air, but Joe was able to buy a house with the money they gave him. Joe's completely autobiographical act pokes fun at his neurotic Italian family and how they┬╣ve molded him, his hatred of single-life in LA, his frantic move back East to find real love, and his marriage to a woman who has a Ph.D. in Psychology (his perfect match). Now his main objective is fixing Joe - he has to if he wants this relationship to work.
