About Kellye Howard

From actress to stand-up comedienne, from writer to mentor, from mother to sister, from creative to creator, there is nothing this bottle of success cannot produce. Kellye Howard has traveled the world encouraging laughter and self motivation since the young age of 19.

Having served in the United States Air Force as an Electrical Systems Technician, Kellye took personal time out of her weekends to do peer mediation with a twist of giggles to the outside communities of Wichita Falls, TX. Being told by a talent scout (just three years ago) that she should grace the stage as a stand-up comedian, Kellye took that into consideration as she started her road to self-contentment. Kellye then visited Los Angeles for a couple months and in that short time landed three independent shorts, one film, two plays and a feature spot on the "Hot Girls of Comedy" with Pauly Shore on TBS.

The very first stage she ever stepped on, the world knew they had something new and fresh evolving. After only three months of doing stand-up comedy, Kellye won a contest of over 50 Chicago comedians in a battle to open for Katt Williams during the taping of "American Hustle." Kellye received an overwhelming array of laughter from the 4,600 people occupying that theatre that evening. She won the contest and became the first female comic to open for a major artist at the Arie Crown Theater. This did nothing but fuel Kellye's fire.

Kellye has gone on to perform at festivals all across the world. Having worked with Jamie Foxx, Anthony Anderson, Chris Spencer and even Christian artists such as Pastors Jamal Bryant and Otis Moss, Kellye has continued to reach for the impossible. Kellye has performed at Laffapalooza, Bay Area Comedy Competition and even the Get Right or Die Trying Super Conference Part One and Two. Additionally, Kellye was a finalist in California's Funniest Female Competition.

A sense of humor is not all this ball of joy possesses. Kellye has been a lead in three plays and featured in many others, from roles that required smile to roles that demanded tears. Her talent is not what keeps her motivated but her desire to change the world -- one joke at a time. Rising from a rough upbringing, Kellye has chosen to use her spare time giving back. As the founder of Lady of Laughter Entertainment, Kellye uses her ability to create as a source of encouragement and strength. She visits at least two high schools a month mentoring and encouraging violence prevention, abstinence and goal preparation. Her latest adventure has been her citywide Chicago "Stop the Violence Comedy Tour" featuring Leon Rogers and Lil' Rel. Plus, she is being featured on the Comedy Central show, "Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at the El Rey."

Kellye's signature saying is: "Laughter takes the pain away, do yourself a favor and laugh today!" With this phrase in the forefront of her mind whenever she speaks, this woman is an endless source of positivity. With Kellye Howard you can expect a little, but she is sure to give you A LOT!!!
